This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used when you visit marysvilleacupuncture.services, the website of Marysville Acupuncture Services, operated by COLE ALEXANDER DAOM, PLLC.
WHAT A COOKIE IS
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognize your browser later. Websites can also keep similar small notes in your browser using a feature called local storage. This page covers both.
OUR WEBSITE
Our website does not set any cookies when you visit and browse its pages. We do not use advertising, marketing, social media, or analytics trackers, and we do not use any tool that follows you from one website to another.
OUR VIDEO PLAYER (WISTIA)
The videos on our home page are hosted by Wistia. When a page with a video loads, your browser connects to Wistia’s servers to fetch the video. Wistia sets no cookies on our pages. Our videos use Wistia’s privacy mode, which anonymizes IP addresses, and Wistia’s “do not track” setting, which stops the player from sending viewing reports to Wistia.
To work properly, the player keeps a few small notes in your browser’s local storage, such as which of our videos have been loaded or played, where you stopped watching, and an estimate of your connection speed so the video plays smoothly. These notes stay in your browser and are not sent to Wistia. If the player itself malfunctions, it may send a technical error report to Sentry, an error-reporting service Wistia uses.

ONLINE BOOKING (TIMETAP)
Appointments are booked through TimeTap, our scheduling provider. TimeTap’s booking pages load only when you open our booking window or go to our booking page. When they do, TimeTap sets these cookies, all of which are needed for booking to work:
- JSESSIONID: keeps your booking session together while you book. Deleted when you close your browser.
- AWSALBTG and AWSALBTGCORS: set by Amazon Web Services, which hosts TimeTap, to keep your browser connected to the same server. They expire after 7 days.
- cf_clearance: set by Cloudflare, TimeTap’s security service, to record that your browser passed a check that you are a person and not an automated program. It expires after one year.
TimeTap’s options for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and session recording are turned off for our booking pages. TimeTap’s booking pages also load files from other providers: Google (maps and fonts), Cloudflare (security checks and page-speed measurement), Amazon and Rackspace (file hosting), the public jQuery and Bootstrap code libraries, and Square (a payment file; we do not use Square). These providers receive your IP address when your browser connects to them. Apart from Cloudflare’s security cookie listed above, they set no cookies. When you pay for an appointment online, the payment is processed by Stripe through TimeTap, and Stripe may set its own cookies during payment to help prevent fraud.

OTHER
Our pages load small emoji images from WordPress.org, so your browser connects to WordPress.org’s servers; no cookies are set. WordPress also keeps a temporary note in your browser about whether it can display emoji, which is deleted when you close the tab.
MANAGING COOKIES
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings:
- Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences
- Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac
- Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/manage-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-view-allow-block-delete-and-use
If you block cookies, our pages still work. Blocking all site data in your browser can stop our videos from playing, and online booking may not work until you allow TimeTap’s cookies.
